REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidate must be in possession of valid Trade Test in Diesel Mechanic issued by an accredited institution plus four (4) years post-qualification experience as an Artisan Diesel Mechanic for Earthmoving equipment in a construction environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings. Willingness to continuously engage in training and individual development. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, work under pressure, must be able to work in a team, must be willing to work irregular hours. Must be in possession of a valid South African code B driver’s licence.

DUTIES:

  • Perform technical design, maintenance of equipment at different construction sites and work with
    hydraulic and air braking systems of earth moving equipment.
  • Provide leadership and solve mechanical problems where necessary.
  • Manage, repairs and maintain minor plant, vehicles and earth moving equipment, preparation
    for road worthy certificates on all vehicle types.
  • Perform inspection of equipment for technical faults, repair of equipment according to standards, test repair of equipment against specifications, service equipment according to schedule and quality assure serviced and maintained equipment as well as ensure adherence to safety standards,
    requirements, and regulations. Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Must be able to execute instructions from Supervisor and support site management.
