Duties & Responsibilities
The security responder reports to the shift manager on a daily/ nightly basis.
Ensure that you comply with all security, company and Estate policies and procedures at all times and enforce them accordingly, this includes making sure all security personnel and subordinates adhere to all instructions and requirements.
Will at all times be open, honest and act with integrity.
On immediate notification of been informed of a complaint, alarm activation, intrusion, emergency you will respond immediately and promptly.
The main duty(s) of the Responder is to respond to emergencies, alarms, complaints and perform patrols as instructed or communicated by means of technology within the Estate to ensure that irregularities and incidents do not occur. This includes patrols as designated/ assigned on the Instacom / bloodhound unit and or cell phone Apps on the Estates. This includes checking and verifying ‘vacant / empty houses’ as requested, responding to alarm activations, checking and patrolling walkways, parks, golf cart ways, pic nic areas, green belts, paddocks, stables etc. – visibility is of utmost importance and helps prevent transgressions from occurring.

All irregularities and incidents that the Responder may encounter must be dealt with in a professional manner and must be reported to the Shift Manager and Control Room as soon as possible.
The responders must make use of the Instacom unit / cell phone to take photos of transgressions, and/ or as proof that complaints were attended, confirmation of residence, vehicle, dog, person etc. Making out the required notices and then ensuring the said notices are handed in daily to the compliance office for processing. Including noting all the required information (who, what, when, why, how, where, names and numbers, registration numbers, windows –doors open etc.). The instacom units / cell phones must be used as a tool to record all information. This includes supplying all the relevant information, reports and ensuring it is recorded on CIIMS/ Online before going off duty.
The responder must also assist / deal with all Resident complaints in an efficient and professional manner and report to the Shift Manager and the Control Room. Where notices must be issued for ‘transgressions’ the responder must ensure that all details are recorded on the notice before it is issued. For example – do not issue a notice to a home owner if they are acting aggressively or confrontational and / or if they are intoxicated. Make sure that the shift manager receives all notices / fines to hand in to the compliance office on the next working business day.
Responders will ensure that in the event of an emergency / major incident they immediately notify the control room, shift manager, security manager and the client.

A major incident can be construed as the following: (not only the below).
– Break-in at a residence and or any building on the Estate.
– Assault / fighting of any kind.
– Firearm incidents of any type.
– ‘Sexual offences’ – exposing one’s private parts, person peeping through a window, physical etc.
– Suicide.
– Fire.

– Medical emergency.
– Breach of perimeter fencing.
– Dog attacking a person / dog fighting.
– Vehicle accidents on the Estate (cars, bikes, golf carts etc.).
– Vandalism / malicious damage to property (when someone on purpose damages property or vehicles) example – someone throws a stone through a car or house window to break it or someone paints on walls, vehicles etc.).
