Salary: R138,486 – R163,131 per annum (Level 2, all-inclusive remuneration)

Minimum Requirements

Educational Level: Grade 8, ABET Level 4, or NQF Level 1–3

Experience: No experience required (previous General Assistant experience is advantageous)

Must be able to read and write effectively

Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

A valid driver’s license will be a distinct advantage

Physically fit, energetic, and self-driven
Core Responsibilities
As a General Assistant, you’ll be entrusted with diverse duties that support the overall function and cleanliness of the department, helping to maintain a professional and organized environment.
Your key duties will include:

Document & Mail Handling: Timely delivery and collection of documents, mail, and correspondence

Transport & Logistics Support: Transporting staff and stakeholders to departmental events and meetings

General Labor Duties: Load and offload equipment, furniture, and other goods
-
Administrative Support: Make photocopies, paste notices, and support routine office operations
-
Facilities Management: Maintain clean offices, boardrooms, kitchens, walkways, and restrooms

Meeting & Function Support: Prepare venues and refreshments for departmental meetings and events

Equipment Care: Report faulty equipment, ensure cleaning tools and machines are used and stored correctly
