About the Role
Reporting directly to the Security Supervisor, the successful candidate will form part of a high-integrity security team responsible for safeguarding the park’s people, infrastructure, and priceless natural assets. The Security Guard will ensure strict compliance with safety protocols, control access points, monitor suspicious activity, and help enforce the law in one of South Africa’s most vital conservation areas.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain and enforce safety across designated areas in the park

Control access and egress points, recording entries and ensuring only authorized individuals enter the premises

Conduct surveillance and perform random patrols across posts, entry points, and high-risk zones

Detect and report suspicious activities, illegal entries, and any acts of violence, tampering, or theft

Execute physical security duties including vehicle inspections, crowd control, and random searches

Provide rapid response to emergencies and support park protection operations

Assist in first aid response when needed

Remain alert, professional, and physically fit at all times to manage high-pressure security situations

Collaborate with security, wildlife protection, and emergency teams to ensure 24/7 safety operations
Minimum Requirements

Matric (Grade 12)
-
Valid Grade C, D, and E Security Certificate plus active PSIRA registration
-
At least 2 years of experience in a similar security role

Familiarity with security equipment and surveillance tools

A valid driver’s license
-
Strong physical stamina – applicants will undergo a fitness assessment

Sharp observation skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure

Basic first aid knowledge

Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)

Knowledge of firearm handling and competency (advantageous)

Insight into wildlife crime trends and prevention methods
